Each night before bed, Ryan and I talk to Emma Vance about the next day’s events. It seems to help her go to bed more eagerly; the idea of “needing to be well rested to play in the sandbox at school tomorrow” seems to do the trick. Since today was our second week of ballet class, last night we talked about it at bedtime.
Me: E.V., do you want to go to ballet class tomorrow?
E.V.: {silence}
Me: Your friend Sophie is going to be there.
E.V.: Sophie!
Me: Do you like Sophie?
E.V.: I like ice cream.
I couldn’t help but laugh. And of course she likes Sophie…but apparently ice cream was on the brain! Oh, how the toddler mind works is such a mystery! ;)
