Here we are, a full month after Cricket’s big day, and I’m finally ready to share pictures! Honestly, I can’t even write about her birthday anymore because it still makes me a little weepy to put such an important milestone behind us — and looking at these pictures brings all that flooding back!
The theme for Cricket’s first birthday was the ushering in of spring and the blooming of flowers. It suits her sunny, smiley personality perfectly, and everything centered around Anna Rifle Bond-inspired florals and this absolutely suiting quote:
The spring came suddenly
bursting upon the world
like a child bursts into a room
with a laugh
and a shout
and hands full of flowers.
(Henry Wadsworth Longfellow)
*sigh*
You *might* recognize our venue from Emma Vance’s first birthday party — which feels like eons ago at this point! I really wanted their parties to be different, so this time around the arrangement was a little different, the colors a little bolder and the theme girlier. Looking back at both sets of pictures, I’m happy at how both fetes turned out, mostly because the photography was to. die. for. In fact, it was so haaaaard to choose which ones to share because our photographer, Carrie Tabb, is so stinkin’ amazing. And, shhh, there are a few more portrait-y pics I’m saving for a whole ‘nother post because I figured that’d at least leave everyone with only a million party pics to glance through instead of a bajillion. :)
Enjoy!
