What It’s Like to Wake Up E.V.

Every once in a while there’s a situation where I have to wake Emma Vance up early from her nap. It’s in these moments in particular that I can truly see Ryan’s personality shining through; I see it as she grumbles and tries to ignore me, rolls over and protests, attempts to fall back asleep on my shoulder or anywhere I set her down. I even manage to see him in her when she finally gives in, accepts that nap time is over and gives me a squinty-eyed, ear-to-ear grin.

These images are a visual representation of the process of coaxing my little lady out of slumber, but the scary thing is that you could pretty much substitute Ryan’s face on any one of these pictures and still have an accurate idea of what waking him up is like in the morning–bed head included! :)
