If you’ve seen us lately, then you’ve seen Emma Vance’s latest obsession: those cowboy boots! There’s something about the clomp-clomp-clomp they make as she walks, the tiny heel that makes her a whole half-inch bigger and the way that they fancify any ol’ outfit that makes E.V. come alive whenever they’re on her little feet. I bought them on a whim, thinking that perhaps she’d get a few chances to don them before Spring. However, I had no clue that she’d fall in love so quickly, begging to wear them practically every day. I suppose that it just proves that there’s something innately within us as girls that comes alive when we feel beautiful. Isn’t this what God intended, though?
Although God doesn’t place value on our outward appearance, I do believe that He created men to reflect His strength and women His beauty. And that beauty is awakened by the simplest of things: Sometimes it’s a fresh haircut; sometimes it’s dressing up in a sparkly gown; sometimes it’s simply the way your husband looks at you first thing in the morning…and sometimes it’s that one pair of Cinderella shoes that can magically and instantly transform a girl from a wobbly toddler to a fairy princess…or an adventurous cowgirl. :)
You are altogether beautiful, my darling, beautiful in every way.
