We had a super-fun, activity-packed weekend at the Shove household filled with Easter kick-offs, parties, church, playtime at the gym…you name it, it was on our calendar! Needless to say, we are exhausted and ready to rest up to start off a new week tomorrow. However, before I say goodbye to the busy last few days, I have to share my favorite event of the weekend — a Minnie-and-Mickey, red-carpet-themed, costume birthday party. When the invite says, “Come dressed as your favorite character!” you KNOW I’m excited to attend!
I have a not-so-secret love for Halloween, and every year I struggle narrowing what E.V. and Cricket’s costumes will be. When I found out that our friend was having a party where the kids got to dress up, I immediately had an idea for the perfect #OOTDs, circa 1983 of course. I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves, but let’s just say that I got to relive my youth vicariously for an afternoon. (In fact, I’m fairly certain I wore similar outfits to both costumes when I was little.) I purchased Emma Vance’s Strawberry Shortcake outfit after seeing a friend of hers don it last October, and Cricket’s Rainbow Brite onesie, well…let’s just say that I had way too much fun crafting it. (Does that make me a dork? Oh well. ;) )
And, on a side note, this was the party of Cricket’s birthday buddy who was born two hours before her in the same hospital, so we HAD to get a picture of the two little ones!
